Here i will make you learn Oracle PL/SQL in very simplified way . I will teach you in my way like I learned. I hope you know what is PL/SQL & what is database, because i am not here to teach you theory if you need definitions you can go to other websites.
What you will learn
After learning all these topics you will become Oracle PL/SQL developer. The main topics written above will include small topics also, that we will discuss later in this course. All the topics will go from simple to complex so that you will become familiar to each topic.
So now let’s start learning Oracle PL/SQL
First Basic thing in oracle database is variable. Variable is that entity which is used in the way the data will be saved in the database. Here I will not discuss all of them but some of them which we mainly use in PL/SQL .
These are the 5 variable which we mainly use in Oracle Database. I will tell you importance of each variable one by one. They are very simple & easy to understand.
You might be thinking that why I am telling you the theory, because without this you cannot understand the oracle database. Let’s not waste time and start with our first variable.
This variable is used to store character in Database.
For Example: If you want to store ABCD1 in char variable it will not store it but if you will store ABCD then it will store.
This variable is used to store variable length character string in Database.
For Example: If you want to store ABCD1 in Varchar2 variable it will store it & if you will store ABCD then it will also store as well.
This variable will store fixed and floating point numbers.
if you will store 1234 then it will also store.
if you will store 1234.50 then it will also store.
This variable will store date & time .
For Example: if you will store 08-May-2018 then it will also store.
if you will store 08-May-2018 11:22:56 then it will also store.
This variable will store unstructured binary data in Database. It can store up to 128 terabytes of binary data.
For Example: If you want to store any files, images & the file with large amount of data so you can store that in this variable.
So these are the my favorite variable which I use generally for my project and in next blog we will discuss Tables How to create & use them . And if you have the problem with these mentioned or any other variable write to me I will wait for your comments.
